Before you can find the Here and There Fish anywhere in the valley, you must progress through Nala's friendship storyline. Reaching level 10 friendship with Nala triggers her final quest, titled Here and There and Back Again. Completing the required steps in this quest permanently enables the fish to appear in your world.

Attempting to catch this fish before completing Nala's quest line will result in ordinary catches like cod or seaweed. Once the requirement is fulfilled, the fish becomes available across all water bodies regardless of the specific biome.
